Monaco is the first choice for Super Yachts. The yachts are large and expensive, but also rely on solid power supplies through large battery banks. A while back the decision was made to implement the Canadus HD-1224 as part of the preventive measures on board.
MASTERVOLT 24 VOLT CHARGER
This is a modern “switch mode” charger that provides optimum charging current to the valve-regulated 4 x 196Ah lead/acid batteries. With the use of the Canadus HD-1224 each cell, 48 in total, will receive the correct charging current and the voltage will provide 2.12 volts to each cell. The charger terminates the charging current at 28.8 volts which results in a much more proficient labour by not having internal resistance (Ohm) in the batteries, and thus terminating with the correct voltage.
We are very proud of the references and trust this gives us and would like to thank both the Captain and the Chief Engineer on board.
With this complete construction including the Canadus HD-1224, the battery bank will work well without sulfation for years to come.
4 BATTERIES IN 24 VOLT SUPPLY
This is the 4 x 196Ah VARTA valve-regulated lead battery mounted with the Canadus HD-1224. The Canadus HD-1224 will monitor each cell so that sulfation will be absent from day 1. You can read more about sulfation under the Documents tab at the top of the page.
After a testing period, the decision was made to fit other battery banks on board with the Canadus HD-1224.

A MACHINE ROOM FOR ENJOYMENT
Onboard this super yacht, Chief Engineer Bjørn from Sweden keeps “his office” as clean as if the machine room was bran new. I couldn’t even find an oil spot anywhere! Thank you for the confidence by those involved in making the decision to mount Canadus HD-1224 from the very first day.

Sulphation prevents charging currents to be transferred to the battery cells, which in turn will provide less amps (Ah). Read more about this on documents.
